Family Storytimes

All ages welcome

The whole family is invited to our drop-in storytime designed for preschoolers and early elementary aged children. Join us for fun stories, songs ! No registration is necessary.

Infant/Toddler Sing-Along 
Join folksinger Peter Sheridan, for the infant toddler Sing Along - a lively half hour of music and motion! Sing-A-Longs are on the first and third Friday of each month, except for the summer months of June, July and August, when it is held on the third Friday of the month.

Sing-Alongs are from 10:15-10:45 AM.

Mother Goose Lapsit

The Lapsit program
are for babies and toddlers with their caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays. Lapsits are a wonderful way to share time with your baby while introducing a love of books and the library. We provide a fun environment where babies and toddlers can work on their important early literacy skills.

Registration for these lapsits is required & ongoing. Reading residents are given registration preference. Call the Children’s Room to register: 781-942-6705


Babytime Playgroup

This drop-in playgroup is for babies and toddlers ages birth to 24 months and their caregivers. Age-appropriate toys will be provided. This is a wonderful chance to socialize and make connections.  Books, booklists, and other early literacy resources will be on display.  The Playgroup will be held on the second and fourth Fridays of the month in the Library Meeting Room.

Sensory Storytime

For 2 to 5 year olds

This storytime is designed for 2 to 5 year olds with autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration issues, other developmental disabilities, and their typically developing peers.
If your child has difficulty sitting through one of our other storytimes, this program of stories, songs, and activities might be just what you are looking for.

Sensory Storytime is on Saturday mornings from 10:00 – 10:30 am, with time for family socializing after the program.
